    Hi Volunteer/Membership - Creston PTA-

At this time there is not an option for a forum like situation that does not require the users to change the notification setting directly, to not receive an email notification for new comments. The whiteboard feature is excellent to use a forum but does send email notifications of new comments unless the user turns that off.

Additionally, we do have options to turn off the ad's on messages. If you would like to discuss this further, please email us at support@memberhub.com

I will also put in a feature request for you for a way to have a forum with no email notifications. :-)

Thanks Melanie. It really seems like it would be beneficial to have an admin setting on whiteboards so you can turn blanket notifications off and on without requiring each user to make a change in their settings.

    Thank you,

    Kate

Hi! One option is to have people edit the Whiteboard itself, instead of using the comments there. I love Whiteboards & use them for offline brainstorming lists, etc., but we do not use the Whiteboard comments.

If we expect a conversation, but don't want everyone receiving emails for each reply, we use a Discussion message with the default hub setting to only send email replies to the author of the original message. That way people can go to the message within MemberHub and post a reply for everyone to see (or reply to a reply, etc.) without triggering emails out to everyone. That makes it essentially like a chatroom... similar to a YouTube comments section. :)

Oh thank you Julie, this might be exactly what I'm looking for. I will play with the Discussion message format and see if that works for us. Thank you!
