Does your unit send out messages at the end of this year to encourage current members to purchase a membership for next year? Why or why not?

Historically we haven't asked for membership dues in advance of the fiscal year. We hold our membership drive at the start of the school year at welcome events, however this year with the COVID-19 pandemic guidelines our memberhsip drive will need to change. We have offered online memberships since 2015, but most of members prefer to join in person.

How does the treasurer track and report early membership dues received this year for the following year and get that posted to NCPTA properly and the unit's accounting?

The MemberHub store allows the dues paying member to select the year 2019-2020 or 2020-2021 in a drop down box, but currently there is no ability to limit the options to only next year within the store setup. Also the SCHOOL YEAR box on the form doesn't show an arrow to indicate there is a choice. The current school year is the default answer.

What do we do if a current member pays for the current year twice? Do I have to manually delete and reenter the member's data? Will the Orders Report download continue to show the incorrect school year? Can that data be corrected through MemberHub customer service?

Nissa Byrne Great questions! The Membership year box will default to 2020/2021 at the end of June, so this is really only something you need to worry about for another few weeks. During that time, I advise its best to just send out a memo to your potential members and give them the heads up to be sure to change the year.

However, if you have a member who purchases the wrong year membership, just reach out to us at support by emailing support@memberhub.com and let us know the user's name and email address and that you need their membership changed to 2020/2021.  We can then get this sent over to the developers to be changed for you.
